Choose Confidently. From Decision Fatigue to Discernment Queen.

Do I leave my marriage or do I stay?

Should I take the leap on my creative idea or keep the stability of my current job?

Am I meant to be a mother?

These are some big life questions. And for many women, they’re followed by even more questions. Illuminating deeper fears.

What if I make the wrong decision?

What will others people think of me?

What happens if I regret the choice I make?

What if I fail?

What if I’m misunderstood?

What if I’m not good enough?

This overthinking spiral into anxiety, self-doubt, and second-guessing is all too common.

And these fears are often at the root of decision fatigue.

In everyday life, it often shows up as feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. We often attribute the decision fatigue to the hundreds of choice points throughout the day.

  • Do I push snooze or get up?

  • Do I want eggs or yogurt for breakfast?

  • Jeans or joggers?

  • Do I have the third cup of coffee or stop at two?

  • Should I “reply all” to this email or just “reply”?

  • Fluoride or natural toothpaste?

  • Which Instagram expert should I listen to?

  • Still or sparkling water?

  • Podcast or audiobook?

  • Shower now? Or later?

It makes sense by the time you’re crawling onto the couch at night to zone out on Netflix, you want someone else to just choose the show for you. And then get annoyed when they choose “wrong”.

It also makes sense that this pattern of turning over your decision-making power to someone else extends beyond just choosing the next binge-worthy series. Pleading with the royal you to “Just tell me what to do!!”

This desire for a checklist of the “right answers” and paralysis of indecision often stems from the belief that you won’t be able to survive making the wrong decision. That if you choose “wrong” you won’t be able to handle it.

 Here’s my assertion.

It’s much easier to make decisions and choose confidently when you trust yourself.

  • When you trust yourself to make the best choice for you.

  • When you trust yourself to handle both the benefits and consequences of your decision.

  • When you trust yourself to learn from the outcomes of your choices.

  • When you trust yourself to know when to pivot.

Now, I’m not here to tell you it’s as easy as, “Just trust yourself!!”

It is… and it’s also not.

It IS that simple.

  • When you trust yourself more, you get out of decision fatigue.

  • When you trust yourself more, you’re more confident making decisions.

But it’s not that easy.

  •  It’s really difficult to trust your intuition when your nervous system is dysregulated.

  • It’s really difficult to make decisions when you’re overwhelmed (in a survival, freeze state).

Let me illuminate a little more of the path to trusting yourself more.

The simple, but not easy, path.

Actually, let me just give you the compass and you can discover your own path.

The essential components of developing more trust in yourself, and ultimately building more confidence in your decision-making skills are:

  • Being Radically Honest with yourself.

  • Keeping Promises you make to yourself.

  • Learning ways to Regulate your nervous system. (And get out of freeze)

  • And Knowing Yourself. Deeply.

If you’re ready to get out of decision fatigue and overwhelm… If you’re ready to feel confident making choices, both big and small…

Come join me and the other brave women building Self-Trust.

We get started March 10, 2024.
